About EGO

In 1970, Don and Doris Peavey answered God's call to serve as missionaries. Along with their four children, they moved to Dessalines, Haiti, where they built Ebenezer Glenn Orphanage. They chose the name Ebenezer from the Bible verse, 1 Samuel 7:12, “Then Samuel took a stone...he named it Ebenezer, saying, ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

With the Lord's help, Don and Doris have enjoyed watching the children grow spiritually, academically, emotionally and physically into adulthood. They have taught many of the children to sing, play musical instruments and conduct gospel services. They have provided training and education, and some of EGO’s children are now nurses, accountants, administrators, computer operators, pastors, teachers and worship leaders. God has always provided what Don and Doris needed for ministry, just as He promised so many years ago.

Ministry to orphans

EGO believes the Bible, which says that God has created all human beings, and each has value and purpose. Don and Doris have exemplified Jesus’ words to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. And love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:30-31) The Peavey's have raised more than a hundred children throughout their 46 years in Dessalines, Haiti, and now Ken & Marla Drowley continue their work! Every baby and child who is under EGO’s care receives spiritual, nutritional, emotional, and physical care from the staff at Ebenezer Glenn Orphanage, as well as an education from EGO’s school. The children are taught trade and domestic skills, child-rearing and relational abilities, and Biblical Christian values. EGO equips each child to enter adulthood and to serve their community with Christ’s love.

What we believe

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His Virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death through His shed blood, in his bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and that He will return in power and glory some day.
  • We believe that we are saved by faith alone through Jesus Christ and for the salvation of lost and sinful people. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit  is absolutely essential.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells and enables the Christian to live a godly life.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers through our Lord Jesus Christ.
